If You Struggle With Acne, You'll Want to Read What Bella Thorne Has to Say About It

It's easy to forget that Bella Thorne is still just a teenager and, thus, still deals with teenage problems — one of them being acne. The 19-year-old Cuban-American star recently opened up about her longstanding battle with the skin issue in a refreshingly candid Instagram post.

On Jan. 6, Bella shared a vulnerable makeup-free picture of herself. In her caption, she wrote, "It's no secret I struggle [with] acne. Sometimes it's clear and sometimes it's just not." Despite frequently feeling self-conscious about her pimples, however, Bella is officially over it. She added, "It is normal to have acne . . . It's only our society and social media outlets like this one that tells us we have to have 'perfect skin' to be considered socially acceptable."

Bella's outspoken message is spot on and will likely resonate with many of her followers — especially those who look to her for beauty inspiration. In 2016, Bella spoke to POPSUGAR about learning to love her skin, including her acne scars. In the interview, she said, "I'm really happy I've grown into who I'm becoming now and who I will become."
