"What we have to tell ourselves as women is that it doesn't matter what other people say. It's about what you believe. When I was younger, around 15, and I really wanted to pursue my career, there were so many people saying I needed to enjoy being a kid, enjoy going to prom, you need to have fun, and cut loose and be a teenager, and I said no, no, this is something I really want to do," Jordana, who graduated from Yale University with a BA in English, says of starting her acting career.
"I followed my gut, my instinct. And I'm so happy I did. Who knows where I would be had I not done that. I think people are so quick to judge and quick to put us down. If you want to try something new, if you want to go back to school, if you want to switch careers, or if you want to try to have kids, and it's not at the 'conventional age,' you have to trust yourself. If it's what you believe and what you want to do, you will accomplish it. You have to be your own champion."
