The song was released in January of that year, and later remixed by Justin Bieber in April, which opened its doors to a broader audience. It became a worldwide phenomenon, and the Latin Recording Academy recognized it, awarding it with four Latin Grammys: record of the year, song of the year, best urban fusion/performance, and best short-form music video.
