Valentine's Day falls on a Saturday this year, making this holiday one of the most covetable dates to tie the knot. For a wedding-day vision that is romantic without being overly saccharine, check out this inspiring shoot from Claire Gordon Events.

"I wanted to design around a traditional Valentine palette of berry-hued pinks and reds, but also strived to create a look that married vintage and contemporary elements," Claire explains. With a team of talented wedding vendors, she transformed Colorado's newest wedding and event space, Carmen W Gallery, into dreamy Feb. 14th nuptials with nary a Cupid's bow and arrow in sight.

They enhanced the ceremony décor by affixing an installation of dried hops (yes, the kind used in beer!) and fresh greenery to the vintage library ladder. The tabletop concept featured lush floral arrangements in cut glass compotes and gold Mercury Glass footed bowls. The menus highlighted stunning watercolor renderings of flowers and berries. For the creative escort cards, they used tea bags attached to mismatched vintage tea cups and saucers. A Provençal-style dresser showcased delicious confections. But the crowning glory was a floral installation with the words "All You Need is Love!"

Two different stunning gowns with lace and floral detailing were used to convey the "updated vintage" theme, and the groom wore a modern two-button tuxedo in a deep blue/gray. The bride's dewy, fresh-faced beauty look featured a strong berry lip and soft, side-swept chignon. A six-carat canary diamond ring and pink bracelet added fun pops of color.

Last but not least, "Ali Brannan of Ali & Garrett Wedding Photographers captured the day and the feminine details by pouring her own grace and warmth into each image. Her striking compositions and use of natural light created the perfect balance of form, structure, and whimsy," Claire says.
