Paulina and Anthony met in their last year as University of California, Berkeley students. Paulina was on the volleyball team and Anthony played golf, and she greeted him at the door at their campus's first Athletes in Action meeting. They quickly became friends and, clearly, the two hit it off as a couple as we now discuss their wedding.
Paulina and Anthony envisioned a destination weekend that included their closest friends and family. They set off to Long Hollow Ranch in Oregon, where they celebrated their nuptials with a rustic, vintage-boho theme. Wood, lace, beads, and feathers detailed the wedding with rich color accents including merlot, mulberry, gold, dusty blue, and chocolate brown.
"Something super unique about our wedding reception is that it was a total crazy-communal-DIY wedding," Paulina told their photographer, Rachel Goble. "Nearly every decorative item and piece of accent furniture was handcrafted, refurbished, recycled, and/or handmade by our family, our friends, and us."
They exchanged vows under a willow archway that she and Anthony made with his parents and grandma. Her mother crocheted their table runner, her in-laws made the wagon-wheel chandelier and their wedding bar, her father bottled the homemade wine, and so much more.
To continue the theme of family and union, they honored their Italian and Spanish cultures with family-style dining. Guests passed platters around the table and ended the evening with singing and dancing.
"We wanted to create a space that felt like home and represented us," Paulina said.
