This Bride Wore Black to Her Own Wedding Because She Could

"What began as a fun, unique Winter style shoot quickly became a magical elopement," said Christina, the photographer. Candice and Bradley met in the eighth grade and have been engaged for three years after being high school sweethearts. They hadn't planned an official wedding date, so when Christina and Unveiled Design and Events suggested that they take advantage of their gorgeous, modern woodland set, they jumped on the idea to elope.

They turned a secret wooded pathway into a gorgeous altar backdrop with black, white, greens, and golds. "Our bride and groom are avant-garde, so it was no surprise that Candice wore a black wedding dress!" Christina said. Their intimate wedding featured wooden antiques and a hot drink station to complete the Winter vibes.

"The energy shifted from a fun style shoot to excited anticipation to be a part of a real love story unfolding before us," she said. "It was sweet, tender, and perfectly intimate — as ideal as an elopement ought to be."
