Donald Trump Picks Another Fight With the Media and 4 Other Stories to Know Nov. 16

  • President-elect Donald Trump continues to clash with the press. After The New York Times, along with many other outlets, reported on the chaos of Trump's transition team, he lashed out at the newspaper on Twitter on Wednesday. Trump said his transition "is going so smoothly" just days after saying the Times "is losing thousands" of readers because of its poor reporting. The newspaper shot back saying it has seen a spike in new subscriptions.
  • Well this is an atypical move for a tech company. Apple is breaking into publishing. The giant will release a coffee table book called Designed by Apple in California that will feature 450 pictures of the last two decades of product releases. You'll be able to pick up a smaller size for $199 or a bigger size for $299 today.
  • You might not have heard this word before, but get ready to start using it often. The Oxford Dictionaries selected its word of the year for 2016 and it makes so much sense: post-truth. It's defined as "relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief" and could explain Trump's election.
  • Dream team? Sounds like it. Lin-Manuel Miranda and the director of Zootopia director Byron Howard have been secretly "plotting" a Disney movie, reports Variety. The film will be animated and will cover a completely unique topic as opposed to a sequel or a character from the Disney canon.
  • Is anyone really surprised? Carrie Fisher's new book, The Princess Diarist, reveals that she had a short and intense affair with Harrison Ford while they were filming Star Wars. Fisher confessed to People that "it was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend."
