Illustration Hypocrisy Over How Women Are Supposed to Dress
This Viral Illustration Perfectly Shows How Women Get Criticized No Matter How They Dress
An illustration is going viral for capturing the hypocrisy over how women are expected to look.
French Twitter user LaSauvageJaune posted this image after furor erupted over France's burkini ban when people saw a photo of a woman being ticketed on the beach in Nice for wearing the traditional Muslim swimsuit that covers the head and body.

Titled "The Lottery of Indecency," it points out how women are criticized for how they dress, no matter if they cover up or show skin. J.K. Rowling tweeted a similar message that went viral in response to French President Nicholas Sarkozy calling the burkini a "provocation." Following the uproar, a high French court overturned the ban in a small town near Nice. The ruling is expected to set a precedent for the other 30 French cities that have also issued the ban.
