- It's the end of an era: Janet Reno, the first woman to serve as Attorney General of the United States, passed away from Parkinson's disease on Monday morning at age 78. Reno served two terms under President Bill Clinton, longer than any attorney general in the previous 150 years. Reno prosecuted several notable cases including the Oklahoma City and the first World Trade Center bombings.
- In other political news, FBI director James Comey announced that the renewed inquiry into Hillary Clinton's private email server found no criminal wrongdoing. Comey was sharply criticized by both Republicans and Democrats for meddling in the election when he alerted Congress that the FBI would be reopening the case just 10 days before voting day.
- There's a first time for everything, even on Saturday Night Live: Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon, who have been playing Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton since this season premiered, broke character on Saturday. Baldwin stopped mid-skit to address McKinnon and express how exhausted he was of all the campaign vitriol.
- In weirder news, two-headed sharks are turning up across the globe. The concerning trend has left researchers dumbfounded. Though there's no definite answer to why, some researchers think the two-headed sharks are the unfortunate result of overfishing in the world's oceans.
- Just in time for Election Day, public transportation will return to normal in Philadelphia on Tuesday, despite the continued union strike. Addressing worries that the strike could affect Philadelphians' ability to vote, the union reached an agreement with the city to temporarily halt the strike on Tuesday. If no lasting agreement is settled on, the strike will continue Wednesday.
