Saturday Night Live Last Cold Open Before Election

Watch Alex Baldwin and Kate McKinnon Break Character in the Most Memorable SNL Election Skit Yet

In their last appearance before the election, Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump and Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton showed just how exhausting this election has been even for them. The skit is a mock CNN interview hosted by Cecily Strong as Erin Burnett and it's fairly absurd: Trump kisses an FBI agent, Putin, and a Klansman. Just as the skit starts to get too real, with Trump beginning a rant about appointing a special prosecutor to investigate Clinton's emails, Baldwin breaks character.

"I'm sorry, Kate. I just hate yelling all this stuff at you like this," Baldwin tells McKinnon. Then Baldwin addresses the audience, "Don't you all feel gross?" Baldwin and McKinnon's solution? Run away from the set into Times Square where they hilariously hug all people who evidently don't support them.

The skit closes with McKinnon sharing as much of an opinion as she can about the election: "We can't tell you who to vote for, but on Tuesday we all get a chance to choose what kind of country we want to live in."
