Stephen Hawking: legendary scientist, explainer of complex theories about physics and cosmology. But there's one thing he can't explain — Donald Trump.

While making an appearance on the Good Morning Britain show in the UK, he was asked to describe the rise of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.

"I can't," he answered, according to CNN. "He is a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator."
