#PorteOuverte 16th district north --DM if you can't get home and/or need shelter. We speak French and English.

On Twitter, it wasn't long before those in Paris began coming together as a community to offer support and shelter. Users there were tweeting out #PorteOuverte as a way to offer shelter to anyone who may have been in harm's way and in need — especially in the 10th and 11th arrondissements, where a majority of the violence was taking place. Those offering to open their homes to strangers were asking that they be direct messaged (DM) to avoid broadcasting their addresses to anyone who might be trolling the hashtag.
