The 6 Presidential Candidates and Their (Hilarious) Harry Potter Doppelgängers

There have been plenty of comparisons between US presidential hopefuls and Harry Potter characters lately — most notably, between GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and Lord Voldemort. Even author JK Rowling weighed in about the similarities between the two!

How horrible. Voldemort was nowhere near as bad. https://t.co/hFO0XmOpPH

And while many of these juxtapositions are justified (villainizing an entire people group and inciting violence from a group of radical followers is a pretty Voldemort move, after all), we decided to see which characters the candidates most resemble physically. Check out these parallels between the current presidential candidates and their respective Harry Potter doppelgängers . . . all personality trait similarities are purely coincidental.

Tom Riddle / Marco Rubio, Republican

Something about Rubio's youthfulness and perfectly parted head of hair is reminiscent of a young Tom Riddle. Plus, they both have that measured speech pattern thing going.

Mad Eye Moody / Donald Trump, Republican

Some might compare Donald Trump's alarmist views about Muslims and immigrants to Mad Eye Moody's comical paranoia about dark wizards, but really . . . the similarity here is all in the looks. Both boast feathery tufts of gray-blond hair, purse their lips in the same way, and are prone to squinting.

Dudley Dursley / Ted Cruz, Republican

Dark-haired, baby-faced, and pouty-mouthed, Dudley Dursley and Ted Cruz are two of a kind. Cruz is quite the orator, regularly winning voters over to his side, just like Dudley is able to talk his parents, Vernon and Petunia, into just about anything. (Him saying ". . . 36?! But last year, last year I had 37!" would result in a grounding from most parents, but the Dursleys were so convinced that they bought Dudders more gifts!)

Quirinus Quirrell / John Kasich, Republican

Much like Professor Quirrell throughout 75 percent of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, many people react to John Kasich with the response: "Who?" Physically, both men have narrow noses, similar lips, and hooded eyelids that make them a perfect candidate-character set.

Amelia Bones / Hillary Clinton, Democrat

Amelia Bones has a very small role in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, but during her short scene it becomes clear that she and Hillary Clinton and dead ringers for one another. The head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement has a similar blond hairstyle, conservative wardrobe, and evaluating stare as the secretary of state — and both are perfectly comfortable taking charge.

Receding hairlines and expressive faces are the physical qualities that link Professor Slughorn and Bernie Sanders together, but their mannerisms are also quite similar. Each man frequently references his past experiences as a way of relating to the present, and they both have a gaggle of celebrity devotees.

BONUS: Madame Maxime / Carly Fiorina, Republican

OK, OK . . . so Carly Fiorina is no longer in the running for the Republican presidential nomination, but her haircut, eyebrows, affinity for rose-hued lipsticks, and fun patterned wardrobe are too similar to Beauxbatons headmistress Madame Maxime not to include here.
