Kids Are Reunited With Missing Cat They Were Told Was Dead, and OMG, My Heart

When Samantha Johnson's cat, Gunther, went missing late in December, her two children — especially her son Nick — were devastated. The outdoor cat went missing at some point while the family was on vacation, and though they posted photos of him on Facebook and looked everywhere, he was nowhere to be found. After a few days of looking, the family got a call from Animal Control, sharing that they found a cat that looked like Gunther who was unfortunately hit by a car and didn't make it.

With her kids' hearts completely shattered over the news, Samantha was grateful when her family was gifted a kitten by someone in town who wanted to help make the kids feel a little better. The next day, however, their little hearts were mended when they came home from school looking for their new kitten to find that Gunther had returned. In a video Samantha posted to Facebook of their reunion, her kids are both shocked to see Gunther relaxing atop the back of the couch, and Nick, bless his heart, is completely overcome with emotion and breaks down as he hugs his fur friend.
