As per the Cuban government, all travelers to Cuba are required to purchase Cuban health insurance. Visitors must have proof of this insurance upon entry to the country, and it can be purchased separately or — as was the case when flying JetBlue for me — the insurance was automatically (and helpfully!) included in the cost of my plane ticket to Cuba.
