Here's How to Get Extra Google Storage Space For Free

Google announced yesterday that it's giving out 2 GB of additional Google Drive space. The only catch? That you complete a security checkup between now and Feb. 17.

It's all part of Safer Internet Day (yesterday) and a mission to secure customer accounts. The simple checkup makes sure your account recovery information is up-to-date in case of suspicious activity, lets you see recent sign-in activity, and confirms which of your apps and devices can access your account information. "Ideally, you'll revisit this checkup every so often or anytime your account changes, like when you get a new phone or replace an old laptop," wrote Google on its blog. Sounds simple enough.
