Good News: Anyone Can Stream HBO Now

HBO unveiled HBO Now at the latest Apple event, letting the world know it will be available in April for $15 per month. But apparently the company did not want everyone to know that the streaming-only service will work with non-Apple devices, too. That bit of information is tucked away on a FAQ page on its website. It reads:

"What devices will HBO NOW be compatible with at launch?

"At launch HBO NOW will be available on desktop/laptop computers as well as iOS devices, including iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Apple TV. HBO NOW will roll out to additional devices soon."

Despite touting the integration with Apple devices, including the shiny new Apple TV, HBO will also support Windows. That means you can stream from your Windows laptop to Chromecast, or watch in bed on your Lenovo. What's so exciting about the HBO Now service is that unlike HBO Go, the current streaming option, you don't need a pricey cable television plan. It's official: HBO is the new Netflix.
