Tinker Like an Astronaut With the DIY LittleBits Space Kit

Houston, LittleBits Space Kit ($189) has liftoff! The Lego-like modular engineering toy has unveiled a brand-new set developed in collaboration with NASA. The lessons were written by NASA scientists, and the projects have tech-minded DIYers building mini versions of the Mars Rover and International Space Station.

There are 12 modules included in the kit, which was designed to teach principles like electromagnetic, kinetic, and potential energy. LittleBits sets are far from simple model building — these finished projects can transmit data! This ISS project has users making a remote that beams music from their phones to their DIY International Space Station.

Stay tuned for our forthcoming review of the LittleBits Space Kit, and read up on why we think the company's founder is a total rock star.
