Starbucks-Lovers Will Either Love or Hate Its New Rewards Program
This week, Starbucks announced its new rewards program along with a sleek new redesign for its app. The update comes in efforts to make the Starbucks experience more interactive and personalized for users.
The revamped points program is still slightly similar to the existing system but with new features, including getting rid of the Welcome Level and introducing Monthly Double Star Days.
Once a month, Gold members will be eligible for Double Stars for every dollar spent. Green and Gold customers will also recieve two stars per dollar spent instead of one. But in place of the previous accumulation of 30 stars to hit Gold member status, it'll now take devotees 300 stars to join the club. In addition, you'll also have to rack up 125 stars for a free reward. So while there are some great perks for existing members, reaping the rewards benefits also becomes slightly more difficult for newcomers.
Other tweaks made to the app includes a "Now Playing" feature to stay in the know with the tunes played in store and a new interactive stars display to make tracking your rewards a lot more fun. Read on for a closer look at the new changes.
