The whole point of every last one of our jobs as journalists, no matter your outlet, is to be heard and to make a difference, so if I'm being honest, I'm extremely disheartened to realize that every "influential" brand and journalist came together in unprecedented unison and it didn't even work. With that being said, the participation of our generation is something we should all be proud of. It was a close race. In the next 4 years MANY young, highly educated, hyper aware women and men will be added to the voting age bracket, and we CAN thank the media for that. We've been working to raise awareness on @obsessee, talking about election issues in an educated, non-personality-driven spirit. And I sincerely applaud brands like @teenvogue and @nymag for changing the way we digest political content. Because of our efforts, I do believe we've greatly improved as a nation. I'm writing this at 3:30am because I can't sleep, and I don't have any brilliant action items for us right now, but I hope that we can be peaceful and find a way to progress without the leadership of Hillary Clinton.
