Get Ready, Muggles: A Harry Potter Film Concert Series Kicks Off This Summer

The magic of Harry Potter is about to make its way across North America with a brand-new concert tour — yes, a concert! The Harry Potter Film Concert Series, which kicks off in June, will feature a live symphony orchestra performing each and every note from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone while the movie plays on a 40-foot screen. CineConcerts and Warner Bros. Consumer Products teamed up for the series, and the premiere takes place in Philadelphia on June 23. (Tickets go on sale on Feb. 20.) From there, the tour will also appear with orchestras that include the San Diego Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Pops, and Symphony Silicon Valley.

CineConcerts President Justin Freer shared details about the concert series to Variety, saying, "All the music is pulled out of the film, so that's one of the interesting challenges — mixing the live music against the dialogue and the effects."
