John Travolta Speaks Out About His Unfortunate Oscars Flub

John Travolta has spoken finally out about butchering Idina Menzel's name at the Oscars on Sunday. In a statement to E! News, the actor said, "I've been beating myself up all day. Then I thought. . . What would Idina Menzel say? She'd say, 'Let it go, let it go!'" John added, "Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!"

In case you missed it, John introduced Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" performance during Sunday's Academy Awards, and whether it was his nerves or a bit of a stumble, he seemed to struggle to pronounce her name. Ahead of Idina's performance, John welcomed what sounded like "the talented, one and only Adele Dazeem."

Twitter quickly took note of the actor's slip-up, and not only did John's name become the top Twitter trend within minutes, but "Adele Dazeem" got her own Twitter account.

@TheEllenShow I hope you enjoyed my debut performance of "Let it Go" this evening #Oscars #Oscars2014 #Frozen #johntravolta

In any case, Idina absolutely nailed her performance, with the entire crowd joining in a standing ovation after her final note.
