Michelle Williams Leaves the Met Gala With Artist Dustin Yellin

Michelle Williams brought her understated glamor to the 2013 Met Gala in NYC last night.

Michelle Williams brought her understated glamor to the 2013 Met Gala in NYC last night. She wore a Saint Laurent design as she made her way up the red carpet and into the Metropolitan Museum of Art to launch the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibit. While Michelle isn't known for her punk rock aesthetic, she does find a way to mix her Brooklyn hipster sensibility with traditional Hollywood elegance. She is also no stranger to fashion's biggest night, having attended the 2011 Met Gala in a black Miu Miu frock.

Once the festivities inside the museum wrapped up, Michelle headed to an afterparty, but first snapped iPhone pictures with friend Kim Gordon and Edgar Ramirez. Edgar, star of the miniseries Carlos and Zero Dark Thirty, chatted with us at the party — check out Edgar Ramirez's Met Gala interview. Michelle retired to the afterparty at the Top of the Standard, and heading home hand-in-hand with NYC-based artist Dustin Yellin. Apparently both Dustin and Michelle currently reside in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Red Hook, which may be where they struck up a friendship.

Met Gala Beauty: Michelle Williams's Silver Tiara

Michelle Williams toed the line between feminine and punk rock at the Met Gala this year, which isn't too far off from her everyday beauty look. Her asymmetrical cut was kept off her face with a 19th century tiara in silver on gold by Fred Leighton, while her eye shadow was a mix of browns and blacks that faded into a sexy smoky eye.

Met Gala: Michelle Williams

While Michelle Williams's Met Gala look may not be exactly "punk," it certainly reminded us how well she can wear the classics.

While Michelle Williams's Met Gala look may not be exactly "punk," it certainly reminded us how well she can wear the classics. Her black strapless Saint Laurent gown showed off just the right amount of leg via a romantic high-low hem, while her black T-strap pumps supplied the ladylike polish. Her Fred Leighton jewels — including a 19th-century diamond tiara — and quirkier Olympia Le-Tan book clutch rounded out the ensemble. What do you think?

Denim shirts have become a closet staple for us, and we can bet that many others feel the same way.

Denim shirts have become a closet staple for us, and we can bet that many others feel the same way. What's not to love? They provide the polish of a regular button-down but with comfort to boot. They work perfectly with our favorite jeans (we can never say no to a good denim-on-denim mix) and printed bottoms, and they can even tame dressier pieces like leather and metallics. To prove the versatility of the denim shirt, we're looking to seven famous faces to show us how to remix our denim shirts into our warm-weather wardrobe. From leather pants to miniskirts to bikinis, head inside to draw inspiration on how to wear your denim shirt seven days of the week.

NYC's Spring galas, the Tribeca Film Festival, and CinemaCon, coupled with the usual premieres and Hollywood parties, made this week one of the most glamorous in recent celebrity-style history. As if Gwyneth Paltrow's Iron Man 3 promo tour hadn't already safely supplied a number of looks to inspire (and gush over), she joined a crew of the chicest kind at last night's Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball, giving us another round of enviable gowns. Add to that a red-carpet arrival from Jennifer Aniston at this week's premiere of Call Me Crazy and Emily Blunt in a showstopping gown at Arthur Newman's LA debut, and it's not hard to see why this might just be one of the best-dressed weeks on record. Gwyneth Paltrow took a break from her promotional duties for Iron Man 3 to party with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson, and many more A-listers at Tiffany & Co.'s Blue Book Ball in NYC last night. She wore a blue Ralph Lauren gown as she mingled on the carpet and inside the party with a Reem Acra-wearing Kate; SJP, who wore a vintage Vicky Tiel gold frock; and Jessica Biel in a navy Elie Saab number. Meanwhile, Carey Mulligan wore a Victoria Beckham black suit at the bash, which featured jewels that were designed for her new film, The Great Gatsby, and chatted with an elegantly dressed Michelle Williams, who donned a dress by Katie Ermilio. Naturally, all of the ladies wore jewels by Tiffany & Co.

Gwyneth had to miss out on the London premiere for her new flick, which took place yesterday after getting rescheduled due to Margaret Thatcher's funeral earlier this week. However, she did fit in press duties while in the UK, including making an appearance on The Graham Norton Show and getting cute at a photocall with her costar Robert Downey Jr.
