After meeting in 2011 on the set of Nicolas Cage's medieval thriller Season of the Witch, Claire and Stephen Campbell Moore tied the knot in 2014. In February 2015, the happy couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, and Claire actually gave her daughter a shout-out during her Golden Globes speech after thanking Queen Elizabeth II. "And finally, another extraordinary woman in the making, my girl," she emotionally said. "I love you, you're the future, and oh, you're just brilliant."

Claire was clearly born to act, but she didn't pursue it until her early 20s, after years spent showing off for her family and friends. "You’ve got to compete in my family!" she mentioned during an interview with The Independent. "But no one ever suggested I should put all this irritating behavior to good use by going to drama school. So I waited until I was 22."

On top of being a brilliant actress, apparently Claire is a multitasking extraordinaire as well. She'd just given birth to her daughter when she began filming scenes for The Crown, which resulted in some tricky scheduling for everyone on set. "I was an idiot — such a huge idiot!” she told talk show host Graham Norton. “I was a lunatic trying to breastfeed and be the queen. It was an odd thing to do." Never one to back down from a challenge, she made the most of her time in the makeup chair, pumping milk for her baby while prepping for each scene. "Every morning I’d be hooked up to the pump, and without fail someone would say, ‘Someone’s phone is going!'"

In a 2012 interview with The Scotsman, Claire discussed how her looks affect the way she picks out roles. "I'm not the most beautiful girl in the world and I’m happy with that,” the (potentially blind) star confessed. "It means I don't go up for those two-dimensional roles where it actually says in the script 'Someone blonde, leggy, and beautiful walks into the room.' There are a lot of parts like that where basically all that’s required of the woman is to look amazing. I’m not going to be cast in them. I’m thankful for that. I only want to take parts that convince me."

In her chat with The Independent, Claire revealed that she has political aspirations. "I thought the other day I’d quite like to go into politics, but only because I want everyone to be honest when they’re lying through their f*cking teeth," she said. "I’m not a good poser. I’m too conscious of looking like a dick. That’s the difference between a star and a normal person. I’ve never been someone who walks into a room and people gasp." Here's hoping she picked up a few tips while playing Queen Elizabeth II, just in case.
