Harry Potter fans can never get enough of the Wizarding World. Though it may be difficult (er, or impossible) for us measly muggles to re-create spells, one thing we can bring to life is the food and drink mentioned in the books. Though it may not be as easy as shouting "accio butterbeer!", these recipes are absolutely doable for the home cook.
- Butterbeer: Hot or cold, butterbeer, made with real butter and beer, is a staple to take the edge off.
- Acid Pops: Dip supersour lollipops in honey, and roll them in Pop Rocks for crackling effect.
- Pumpkin Pasties: Available on Hogwart's Express and Honeydukes, pumpkin pasties are essentially pocket pies stuffed with a spiced pumpkin filling.
- Quidditch Players Pie: Quidditch players need a hearty meal like shepherd's pie to energize them for the match. As Fleur Delacour says, "Zis 'eavy 'ogwarts food."
- Licorice Wands: Be sure to stock up on your ride back to Hogwarts!
- Pumpkin Juice: Muggles drink OJ, but wizards subside off of pumpkin juice morning, noon, and night.
- Treacle Tart: Harry's favorite dessert features a shortbread crust and golden syrup filling.
- Beef, Lamb, and Guinness Stew: Served at the Leaky Cauldron, beef, lamb and Guinness stew is originally in a bread bowl but can be made like a pot pie if you prefer pastry dough.
- Cauldron Cakes: Though there are many interpretations of the mass-produced Cauldron Cakes sold on the Hogwarts Express, we're inclined to think they might be the wizard's equivalent of Hostess Cupcakes or a molten chocolate cake.
