Julia Louis-Dreyfus Says Her Latest Emmy "Is a Hell of a Lot of Good Fortune"

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is now a three-time Emmy winner after taking home the trophy for outstanding lead actress in a comedy for Veep.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is now a three-time Emmy winner after taking home the trophy for outstanding lead actress in a comedy for Veep. The TV veteran was exuberant in the press room, expressing how grateful she is to have won for three different series (she previously won Emmys for Seinfeld and The New Adventures of Old Christine). Louis-Dreyfus also spilled about what she'll be doing after the Emmys wrap and what TV shows she unwinds with.

On how it feels to be honored for three different TV series: "I would say this is a hell of a lot of good fortune. I'm particularly moved to get this for a third series that I've done. I need an Advil. I have a headache! I can't believe it. I'm very thrilled and moved."

On how current politics influence Veep: "It's greatly influenced me and where the show's going. It's an amazing time in politics. Frankly I think all time in politics is kind of amazing in a certain level. It seems front and center right now in our lives. There's a lot of good, rich material from which to glean, not parody; there are little morsels we can take away, almost every day, it seems."

On how she's going to celebrate: "I'm going to have a glass of wine. My husband and I brought our 15-year-old son to the show tonight, so it's very exciting that he's here. He'll go to the Governors Ball with us and then go home because he has school tomorrow. His dad and I are going to go out and live it up a little for sure."

On her favorite shows: "I watch Colbert, I watch The Daily Show. Face the Nation, C-SPAN, Homeland, Breaking Bad, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Girls. And Boardwalk Empire!"

Julia Roberts and Danny Moder were arm in arm at the Jonathan Beach Club in Santa Monica last night. They paired up for Heal the Bay's Bring Back the Bay charity event, which also brought out Amy Smart, Ali Larter, and Julia-Louis Dreyfus. Julia wore a polka-dot Moschino jumpsuit to the fundraising gala, where she and her husband Danny were honored along with Amy for their leadership and environmental accomplishments. Amy's husband Carter Oosterhouse was on hand for support. Julia is coming off a busy few months that included promoting Mirror Mirror with costar Lily Collins and premiering Jesus Henry Christ with Michael Sheen. Julia was able to fit in family time, though, and took a Hawaiian vacation with her kids Hazel, Phinneaus, and Henry.

Veep Preview: Julia Louis-Dreyfus Is the President's Right-Hand Woman

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is coming back to the small screen in Veep, but this time she's getting far more political than Elaine Benes ever was.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is coming back to the small screen in Veep, but this time she's getting far more political than Elaine Benes ever was. She plays Selina Meyer, the vice president of the United States, and she's no stuffy DC type. Selina is smart, sassy, and seems to always have an S-bomb ready to go, especially for members of her staff, which include Arrested Development's Tony Hale and Anna Chlumsky (all grown up since her My Girl days).

The tone of the comedy is pretty irreverent, especially considering that Selina appears to be gunning for the job of her superior, the president (her look of glee upon hearing that he's experiencing chest pains is pretty priceless). I can't wait to see Louis-Dreyfus join HBO's lineup and throw herself into the edgy humor when the new series premieres on April 22. Watch the trailer now after the jump.

The Piece: Irene Neuwirth Chrysoprase and Diamond Earrings

The Investment: $2,880

Why We Covet: Irene Neuwirth's unique designs always seem to include exotic gems in colors so beautiful you can't stop staring at them. Case in point: countless celebs like Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Reese Witherspoon, Rashida Jones, and Halle Berry have all dazzled while wearing her jewelry. Irene cites the ocean as a major influence in her work, and we can imagine these earrings and a flowy dress taking a walk down the beach at sunset. Fun fact: chrysoprase (sometimes called Australian jade) is a rare form of quartz, and small amounts of nickel give it that vivid green color.

TV Tonight: The Women of SNL Reunite on NBC

As someone who grew up watching Saturday Night Live, I have a soft spot for sketches like Mary Katherine Gallagher, The Delicious Dish, and the Spartan cheerleaders (fun fact: I actually did a skit as Arianna in my high school talent show).

As someone who grew up watching Saturday Night Live, I have a soft spot for sketches like Mary Katherine Gallagher, The Delicious Dish, and the Spartan cheerleaders (fun fact: I actually did a skit as Arianna in my high school talent show). So tonight's The Women of SNL special has me particularly jazzed, as several of the female veterans reunite to relive their favorite clips and bring us some new material.

Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Nora Dunn, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Cheri Oteri, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, and Kristen Wiig will all be appearing, and if this early photo of them reenacting The Real Housewives is any indication, it's going to be fun times. The special starts on NBC at 9 p.m. EDT — are you going to tune in?
