The 19-year-old triple-threat actress, singer, and dancer can now add beauty icon to her growing résumé — she's been named the newest face of CoverGirl.
Zendaya is undeniably one of today's brightest millennials. She shuts down every red carpet she walks on. She's graced the covers of Teen Vogue and W magazines, and she isn't afraid to be bold and gracefully shut down haters. While she can pretty much pull off any look — sans makeup, full glam, or faux locks — Zendaya has proven herself to be more than just another pretty face.
The singer has publicly sparked conversations on diversity and female empowerment, making her recent pairing with the brand a match made in beauty heaven. CoverGirl is well known for enlisting powerful women for its campaigns — Zendaya joins the ranks of diverse alumnae, including Ellen DeGeneres, Queen Latifah, and Katy Perry. "I can't wait to share some of my own beauty tips with fans, and work alongside CoverGirl to continue empowering girls and women to celebrate their individuality," she said in a press release.
This isn't the first time Zendaya has been snagged for a beauty campaign, though. Last year she was announced as the first celebrity ambassador for hot-tool brand CHI, and she's also appeared in commercials for Proactiv. That said, her newest endeavor for CoverGirl is guaranteed to be huge: her first campaign ad will air during the Grammy Awards this February, featuring the new CoverGirl LashBlast Plumpify Mascara.
