Emma D'Arcy Dyed Their Hair Red — Yes, Like a Negroni Sbagliato

Is Emmy D'Arcy's new hair color a nod to their drink of choice? The "House of the Dragon" star debuted bright-red hair at the GQ Men of the Year Awards on Nov. 16, and we can't help but draw comparisons to a negroni sbagliato — the cocktail they catapulted into the spotlight after a viral interview last month. The fiery hue was hard to miss as they posed for photos in an all-leather outfit alongside rumored partner Thomas May Bailey. As costar Olivia Cooke quipped in the aforementioned interview, D'Arcy looked "stunnin'" indeed.

Hairstylist Eleni Tses of Nūdo Studio was responsible for D'Arcy's edgy dye job, replacing the icy-blond color they had before. A natural brunette, the actor wears a long white-blond wig to portray Rhaenyra Targaryen in "House of the Dragon" but prefers shorter styles in real life. "The word I used when explaining it was that I am almost allergic to lots of hair," they recently told British GQ while discussing their onscreen wigs. Before starring in the HBO series, they had a long mullet and baby bangs, almost like an "octopus" haircut.

Celebrities galore have been experimenting with various shades of red these days, from Megan Fox's striking auburn transformation to Shay Mitchell's brick-esque hair. Others have gone for a more low-key coppery finish, like Lily James and Sydney Sweeney. Who knows: maybe "negroni-sbagliato red" will become a big ask at salons now, thanks to D'Arcy? Just don't forget to add Prosecco.
