I've been growing out my eyebrows for over a year now, and let me tell you: it has been a struggle. I've been using a brow serum, taking vitamin supplements, and even testing the waters with manifesting (everything helps, right?). The growing-out period has occasionally left me with some very awkward-looking eyebrows, but I've finally reached a point in the journey where I feel like they are making headway.

Because my brows have been a bit on the unruly side for the past 12 months, I've opted to try out basically every brow product imaginable. Then, when I saw the Nyx Professional Makeup Brow Glue Instant Brow Styler ($8) going viral on TikTok a few weeks ago, I knew I had to try it. People were going crazy for the gel and saying it mimicked the effects of a brow lamination. Plus, with over 1,300 five-star reviews on Amazon, I had to see if the gel was as good as everyone said it was.

The first time I tried it, I knew within five seconds that I was going to like it. The product comes out a little "tacky" and not watery, which made it easy to shape my brows and lift them into the perfect position. With other gels, I find they're typically more on the watery side, meaning I have to apply and then wait for them to get tacky before shaping. The NYX Brow Glue eliminates that extra step, which is great for anyone looking to shave off a few extra minutes of their beauty routine.

To apply, I coat my brows in the product with the included applicator, and then I shape them using the same applicator brush. I typically sculpt my brows in an upward motion until they look kind of crazy, and then I shape them from there. I also prefer to use this gel prior to filling in my brows with any color, getting them to my desired shape, and then adding in light strokes of color once they've dried completely.

While the results aren't exactly the same as a brow lamination (trust me, I've had one), this product is the closest I've gotten without seeing a technician — and puts other brow gels I've tried to shame. This has become a product that I use all of the time, no matter what (even if I'm going for a makeup-free day). Plus, at only $8, I've yet to find a more effective brow product for a better price. While the tube is on the smaller side, a little goes a long way, and my tube typically lasts me two months, which is a month longer than an actual brow lamination . . . and a lot cheaper, too.

This brow gel has earned a permanent spot in my makeup bag, so if you're looking to achieve a laminated look for a fraction of the price, what are you waiting for?
