The 16 Products Every Diehard MAC Junkie Should Own

MAC didn't invent red lipstick, but the brand definitely cornered the market on the iconic shade with its MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo ($19). This classic crimson is the number-one bestseller right now. But if you're a hardcore fan, you'll also have Russian Red and Relentlessly Red in your lipstick library.

The dense wand allows each lash to be lengthened and volumized. The wand is HUGE and the tines are close together, which means that every lash gets coated with inky-black color.

While the red is my go-to all year-round, I like to mix it up in the Summer with a bright-pink shade. MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous ($19) made the MAC bestseller list because it is superbright and lasts a long time. The fuchsia matte color has purple and blue undertones that make it a beautiful shade on all skin tones.

Bold brows have peaked in popularity with the #EyebrowsOnFleek trend. In addition to your brow gel and concealer, you need a good color product to fill in your arches. The MAC Eye Brows Styler in Spiked ($19) in particular is perfect because you can draw in hairlike strokes. A rich-brown shade called Spiked is the most popular color, but if you're a redhead or blonde, there are warmer and lighter options, too.

A gel eyeliner is the most versatile tool in your makeup kit. You can use it to define eyes and brows or use it as shadow in a real pinch. MAC Pro Longwear Fluidline Gel Eye Liner in Backtrack ($19) is an essential for any MAC-lover because it goes a step beyond waterproof. It lasts all day — promise! The color isn't extreme black. It dries down to more of a gray, which works for an everyday eyeliner.

To give my skin a dewy finish, I like to start with a primer that has a highlighter finish. MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance with Hydration in Radiant Yellow ($42) makes any foundation an illuminating formula (think pregnancy glow). The radiant yellow is the most sold hue, which is ideal for darker skin tones, and it also comes in pink for fairer complexions.

The one complaint I often hear about MAC matte lipsticks: "They are so drying." I simply respond by handing over my MAC Prep + Prime Lip ($19) (not for long, just as a loaner). This product glides on like a lip balm and fills in those vertical crevices. It also gives my Ruby Woo a few more hours of life without making my lips dry.

One of the reasons MAC remains popular is because the brand has an extensive range of foundations that represents many different skin tones. MAC Studio Fix Matte Powder Foundation ($31) is an example. It comes in about 40 different shades (NC35 and NC40 are the most sold hues)! This compact also gives the most opaque coverage when you layer on a few coats without leaving your skin too cakey.

I'm blaming Kylie Jenner for the rise of MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy ($19) on the bestseller list. The hue is very similar to her favorite MAC shades, Brave and Whirl. The color is the perfect blend of pink and beige, which is a hard balance to strike.
