You don't need a wildly complex costume to wear space buns — the hairstyle alone instantly says "outer space." These can be as big or as small as you want them to be, and you can even dress them up with certain hair accessories or glitter.

To re-create the space-buns hairstyle, part hair your down the middle and divide two sections on either side into two pigtails using as much hair as you'll want for the buns. Once secured, loop them into messy buns. Or, if you want to put an elevated twist on the look, start on one side of the head and split the pigtail into two pieces. "Starting with the first piece, start twisting the hair until it begins to coil on top of itself, but leave the ends out," celebrity hairstylist Laura Polko previously told POPSUGAR.

Once you've created the desired shape, use hair pins or bobby pins to hold it in place. Repeat that process with the other section of the pigtail, then move on to the other side of the head.
