Just a Friendly Reminder That Millie Bobby Brown Is Younger Than You Think She Is

Despite how young she looks, anyone who has ever seen an interview with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown would agree that she is wise beyond her years. Of course, given that she's an old soul with a baby face, few people know what the heck her age actually is. Born in Spain on February 19 of 2004, Millie recently turned 15 years old, which is pretty hard to believe, considering she's already received an Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series, made Time 100's list of the 100 most influential people, signed to IMG Models, and been appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Not bad for someone who can't even drive yet!

As well as being way younger than you would think (especially given her serious style), most people are also surprised to learn that Millie never received any formal acting training. After making guest appearances on shows such as Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Modern Family, NCIS, and Grey's Anatomy (as well as playing Madison O'Donnell in BBC's short-lived series Intruders), Millie got her big break by landing the role of Eleven — and, weirdly enough, she also happened to be 11 years old when she nailed her audition with her hypnotizing stare. Eleven actually says very little in the show's first season, yet her ferocity was powerful enough to win over the hearts of fans everywhere.

Just another reminder of how preciously young Millie is: her first real-life kiss occurred onscreen at age 12 with Eleven's love interest, Mike (who's played by fellow child star Finn Wolfhard). You may worry about Millie growing up too fast, but we think that the young star is too smart to succumb to the trappings of Hollywood success. She even told Variety that she doesn't feel old enough to show off any skin yet. "If I'm in a photo shoot and they're like, 'Can you wear a crop top?' I'm like, 'No. No, not yet,'" she said. "When that day comes I'm going to be, like, 18." If only all young teen stars were as incredibly self-possessed as Millie!
