For Princess Charlotte's christening, he gave his granddaughter a solid silver Georgian picture frame engraved with his insignia. The proud father also had a treehouse built in the grounds of Highgrove House for his young sons, William and Harry, which has recently been refurbished for Prince George.

Kate's uncle is also a fan of tailoring the gift to the individual. The Transylvanian aristocrat is an old friend of Prince Charles and manages his property portfolio in Romania. When Prince George was christened, the count gifted him with a wildflower meadow in the Transylvanian hills, saying, "If we sent him flowers, they would wilt."

When William turned 30, Kate bought him a rough and tumble watersports experience in the freezing-cold Irish Sea — and he loved it! They celebrated his milestone at their then-home in Anglesey on the Welsh coast, and she paid for him to be pulled along by speedboat in a rubber ring.
