Prior to His Romance With Chilli, Matthew Lawrence Dated These Other Stars

Even though many fans hoped Fishel and Ben Savage were a real-life couple during their time on "Boy Meets World" in the '90s, Fishel was actually dating Lawrence behind the scenes. "The only person on the show I ever had a romantic relationship with was Matthew Lawrence," she revealed in an episode of "Pod Meets World" in August 2022, per Us Weekly.

While Fishel didn't delve too much into their relationship, she noted that they kept their romance a secret from the rest of the cast during filming. She explained, "We did not want it to be a big deal on set. [But] I went to his prom. Our moms were friends. It was cute."

Mueller — who famously starred in the daytime soap opera "Passions" from 2003 to 2008 — began dating Lawrence in 2004. According to Us Weekly, the two even got engaged before ultimately calling it quits in 2006.

The actors dated between 2013 to 2015. It's unclear what went wrong, but New still has photos with Lawrence on her Instagram, in which she referred to him as "My ❤️" and her "partner in crime" at the time.

Lawrence's longest relationship to date has been with the "Dancing With the Stars" pro. According to People, the two first met in 2006 when Lawrence's brother Joey was a contestant on the ABC dance competition show, and they began dating not long after. However, they broke up after a year of dating.

Nearly a decade later in 2017, Burke and Lawrence gave their love another shot. They became engaged in 2018 and wed in May 2019. In a December 2020 YouTube video titled "My Experience With Abusive Relationship," Burke opened up about her history with "dating abusive men," saying it all stopped when she met Lawrence. "Looking back, I honestly think that the first relationship I ever had that did not fit this abusive pattern was when my now-husband, Matt, and I dated the first time around back in 2007," she said. "I honestly think at the time when we first dated, I didn't clearly love myself enough to think that I deserved to be with someone who was actually nice to me."

However, after nearly three years of marriage, Burke filed for divorce from Lawrence in February 2022. In the court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Burke listed their separation date as Jan. 7, 2022 and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.

Burke later addressed the breakup in a post on Instagram. "I know I have always said that I'm an open book with you guys, I do strive to be, and in writing this I've realized there isn't really an easy way to announce that my marriage is ending," she wrote. "I hope you can understand that I will not be commenting any further at this time and am asking for understanding and privacy. Thank you all for all the kind words & support you've given me - love you all."

Lawrence never publicly addressed their separation, but in September 2022, their divorce was officially finalized, per People.

Since his split from Burke, Lawrence is now romancing the TLC singer. The pair were first rumored to be dating after they were spotted vacationing in Hawaii together in August 2022, but it wasn't until January 2023 that they confirmed their romance.

Chilli's rep, Christal Jordan, revealed to People that she and Lawrence became romantically involved just before Thanksgiving. According to the rep, she's "never seen [Chilli] this in love" in the 17 years they've worked together. "She is glowing. They are really cute together," Jordan told the publication.

Chilli and Lawrence also made their romance Instagram official by posting a video dancing to A-ha's "Take On Me" in matching onesies on Jan. 1.
