Meena Harris, Paloma Elsesser, and Yuna on the Importance of Representation: "It's a Necessity"

In honor of Women's History Month, Meena Harris, Paloma Elsesser, and Yuna recently teamed up for a special episode of Coach Conversations to discuss the importance of representation and intersectionality. Paloma began by reflecting on her historic January Vogue cover, the first Vogue cover styled by a Black woman, saying it was a "profound honor" and it brought her a lot of "pride and joy." Meanwhile, Yuna spoke out about her music career and what it's been like to have full control of her music as an indie artist. "It seems impossible, but if you put your mind to it, you can definitely just do it your own way," she said.

The women then emphasized the need for more female representation and making space for "different types of womanhood." "Representation not only feels good, it's imperative, it's a necessity," Paloma said. "It allows those women or people who identify as women to see themselves." Meena added, "We know that you can't be what you can't see."
