All the Highlights From This Year's Billboard Music Awards

The Billboard Music Awards took over Las Vegas on Sunday, and the music world's biggest stars came out for the occasion. The night was jam-packed with adorable PDA, jaw-dropping fashion, and of course, a flood of electric performances. Keep reading to see the night's biggest highlights, including Britney Spears's first time performing "Pretty Girls" live and an adorable acceptance speech from Sam Smith.

Let's go back to where it all started: the red carpet. Take a gander at all the stars who were in attendance and all the gorgeous outfits they wore.

When it comes to the red carpet, there were certainly a handful of standouts. We still haven't recovered from the amount of skin Jennifer Lopez's outfit showcased, and Chrissy Teigen's sheer dress blew us away.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's squad game was seriously strong: she walked the red carpet with a whole slew of friends by her side.
Kendall Jenner was looking fierce, sure, but did you also catch her sweet words about Bruce Jenner?

The energy kicked up even higher once the show started. One Direction won the first award of the night, and they even gave a shout-out to Zayn Malik in their acceptance speech.
Can we talk about all the couples from the night, though? Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris shared a supersweet moment before she took the stage, and Britney Spears made her first red carpet appearance with new beau Charlie Ebersol.
Oh, and what's the deal with Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart? They looked pretty cozy together in the audience.

On the stage, numerous performances throttled the audience in the best way. Nick Jonas performed his hit song "Jealous," and we have to say, he looked (and sounded) better than ever.
Meghan Trainor and John Legend, on the other hand, slowed things down with a soulful rendition of "Like I'm Gonna Lose You." And Wiz Khalifa made us cry yet again with his Furious 7 song, "See You Again."
Remember Faith Hill? You surely will after you watch her singing "Girl Crush" with the band Little Big Town.

We've saved the best for last! Mariah Carey blew us away with her minimedley, which included an epic throwback to her early days.
The cutest acceptance speech of the night had to be Sam Smith's. He totally re-created that iconic Love Actually scene, and we loved every second of it.
The most anticipated performance of the night was probably Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea's "Pretty Girls." Predictably, the two divas totally killed it.
