8 Things That Have Happened Since Drake Declared His Love For Rihanna at the VMAs

Drake and Rihanna's are-they-or-aren't-they relationship has been going on since 2009, but it finally seems like they're official. Drake has never been shy about his feelings for the "Work" singer, and he made sure everyone knew it when he put up a giant billboard to celebrate her well-deserved MTV Video Vanguard Award the day before the VMAs. When the night finally arrived on Sunday, Drake and Rihanna ended up having one of the show's most memorable moments thanks to the sweet near-kiss they shared on stage and the seriously epic speech Drake gave her. The couple's relationship keeps heating up, so let's take a minute to examine everything that's gone down between them since Drake's declaration of love at the VMAs.

Drake gives a touching speech about Rihanna at the VMAs.

Drake's endearing speech for Rihanna could pretty much double as a wedding proposal. "She's someone I've been in love with since I was 22 years old," he told the audience. "She's one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life I've looked up to her even though she's older than me." He went in for a kiss, but when Rihanna turned her head, a few people took that as proof that she wasn't into it.

As if his speech weren't beautiful enough, Drake posted a photo to Instagram of him kissing her cheek, with a caption that continued to sing Rihanna's praises: "This is a night for us all to be thankful for what you have done for us! You have affected so many of our lives in the best way possible. Tonight we celebrate you! @badgalriri."

They grab an intimate dinner together.

The Monday after the VMAs, Rihanna and Drake got cozy while grabbing dinner together at Nobu in NYC.

They share an actual kiss at his concert in Miami.

Rihanna surprised fans at Drake's tour stop in Miami on Wednesday night when she appeared on stage and locked lips with the "Summer Sixteen" rapper, officially putting any doubters of her feelings for him to rest. In videos posted by fans at the concert, the crowd goes absolutely wild after their kiss, and Rihanna wraps her arms around him. Are you melting yet? Because we're basically a puddle.

She gets a tattoo dedicated to Drake.

In early August, Drake took Rihanna on a romantic date to the Toronto Aquarium, where he gave her an adorable camouflage shark stuffed animal. On Thursday, Rihanna added another tattoo to her ever-growing collection that was . . . wait for it . . . a camouflage shark.

Rihanna reacted pretty coyly on stage after Drake finished his speech, but it appears his kind words meant the world to her. She posted a video to Instagram of her acceptance of the Video Vanguard Award, and the caption made sure to call out Drake, saying in part, "My journey has been filled with growth and people who continue to inspire me! Drake gets the same shark tattoo as Rihanna.

During one of Drake's concerts in late August, the rapper showed off some fresh ink on his right forearm. The tattoo just so happens to be the same shark Rihanna has tattooed on her ankle.

Drake professes his love for Rihanna, again.

During an LA stop on his Summer Sixteen tour in September, the rapper brought the singer out on stage and told the crowd, "I pray that you find somebody that holds you down like this woman right here." He then proceeded to call her "incredible, beautiful [and] talented."
