Friends Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin Have Been Supporting Each Other Since 1977

At the 2017 Emmy Awards, Fonda and Tomlin reunited with Parton to give out the award for best supporting actor in a limited series. "Back in 1980 in that movie, we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot," Fonda said at the time, with Tomlin adding, "And in 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot" — alluding to then-President Donald Trump, per Entertainment Weekly.
