Ryan Dorsey Shares Tribute to Naya Rivera on Her Birthday: "I Still Don't Have the Answers"

Ryan Dorsey is remembering Naya Rivera on what would have been her 36th birthday. "A little easier with each little bit of time that passes by to look at pictures . . . but I still don't have the answers to the questions to the why's our sweet boy asks from time to time. I never will," he wrote in a Jan. 12 Instagram post. "Doing the best we can. 🕊️🦋Fly high 🦋🕊️."

He went on to offer a message of support. "If you're reading this no matter what you're going through, take a moment of gratitude that you're still here on this ride," he wrote. "I know some days are harder than others to get up, but keep we just gotta keep pushing onward."

Dorsey often pays tribute to his late ex-wife, sharing emotional posts on the first anniversary of her funeral, Mother's Day, and more occasions. "There's not enough words to express the hole left in everyone's hearts," he wrote in a statement shortly after her death. "I'm thankful for our times and our journey that brought us together and gave us the sweetest and kindest smart little boy we could ever hope for. . . . He'll never forget where he came from."

Rivera died on July 8, 2020, after going missing during a boating trip in Lake Piru, CA. Her then-4-year-old son, Josey, was found unharmed with their rented boat, and Rivera was confirmed dead on July 13.

The "Glee" star and Dorsey were married from 2014 to 2018. Their one child, Josey, was born on Sept. 17, 2015.
