Kelly McCreary and Husband Pete Chatmon Met on the Set of Grey's Anatomy
You may be hoping to see more of Maggie Pierce and Winston Ndugu's romance during season 17 of Grey's Anatomy, but IRL, actress Kelly McCreary's heart belongs to someone else. Kelly met her director husband Pete Chatmon on the set of Grey's Anatomy back in 2017, and the couple dated for two years before tying the knot in May 2019. From the many couple's pics the pair posts on social media, it's pretty clear these two are enamored with each other, and we love to see it. In addition to directing a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Pete has directed multiple episodes of American Koko, The Last O.G., Grown-ish, Black-ish, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He's also directed single episodes for All Rise, Station 19, Mixed-ish, A Million Little Things, Silicon Valley, Single Parents, Greenleaf, Atypical, and Insecure.
He's Also Produced Many of His Own Films
After producing his first film, 3D, in college (which became a 2001 Sundance selection), Pete went on to produce several other films, including Chameleon, Premium (which starred Zoe Saldana), 761st, Broken, God Loves You, Black Card, Wilmington on Fire, and Wednesday Morning.
He Has His Own Line of Merch
Pete launched TheDirector merchandise line in 2017 in order to empower and inspire up-and-coming and aspiring directors. Products available include shirts, hoodies, bomber jackets, fleece jackets, baseball hats, and coffee mugs.
He Has a Podcast
His podcast, Let's Shoot! with Pete Chatmon, debuted in June 2020, and he releases new episodes on YouTube and all podcast platforms every Wednesday. During every episode, Pete chats with directors, writers, actors, showrunners, producers, and executives, among other guests, about what makes for a good director.
