Alright, HBO, We Have Some Questions About That Euphoria Season Finale

I was low-key hoping Nate would, in some way, have to pay for his misdeeds by the time the finale rolled around, but alas, he didn't. He had a knock-down dragout fight with his dad that resulted in Cal running from the room while Nate thrashed around on the floor — possibly confirming our suspicions that Nate is seriously unhinged and needs actual help. Hopefully season two will bring some resolution for Nate paying for everything he's done (abusing Maddy, blackmailing Jules, calling the cops on Fez, etc.), but then again, we still need a villain, so we'll see.

After Rue suggests that she and Jules run away to the city, she balks and instead stays behind while Jules rides away on the train. Is she going to go find Anna, whom she admitted she's in love with? Will she come back for Rue, whom she also admitted she was in love with? As such a crucial character on the show, I feel confident she'll be back for season two, it's just a matter of in what capacity — Rue's best friend, Rue's girlfriend, something else?

One of the highlights of the season finale was Kat realizing that Ethan is (seemingly, hopefully) a decent dude, and she kisses him at the dance. He's been so cutely trying to get her attention all season, and now it seems like the two might make a go of it.

The very last scene of the season finale is a bit of a head-scratcher, as far as I'm concerned. As Labrinth and Zendaya showered us with "All For Us," Rue got high for the first time in months, as a way to deal with Jules leaving. As the scene plays out, Rue stumbles out of the house and into a trippy musical performance in the street, complete with a choir and marching band. Is she dead? Is this just a wild drug trip? I guess we'll find out in season two.

After yet more abuse from Nate, Maddy steers clear of him for a bit. However, when they find themselves at the dance — with other people — they fall back together. Maddy is very vocal with Nate, telling him she hates him, she hates that he hurts her, she hates how they are together, and she admits that she knows they're terrible for each other. He agrees with her on every aspect, but then just kisses her hair as they continue dancing. I, personally, want better for Maddy, and I'm hoping that in season two, she finally stays away from Nate for good.

After getting an abortion, I feel like Cassie should take it easy for a bit. She's had a wild few years (her drug-addict dad leaving the family behind, her sexcapades that everyone knows about, her issues with Daniel, and getting pregnant with McKay's baby), and the season finale showed her spending more time with her sister Lexi than she had in any other episodes. Lexi's been an underserved character all season, so I'd love if in season two, her role gets bigger and the two sisters bond a little more.

I have no idea what Mouse is going to do to Fez, but I'm hoping the answer is nothing, since Fez came up with the money for him, despite being raided by the cops. Fez needs to be OK for a couple reasons: he needs to be there for Rue, he has to take care of his grandma, and someone's got to look out for Ashtray, even though he's probably fine on his own.

Cassie makes a comment in the finale about this being the first time in years that she's not in love with anyone, so it might be safe to assume that after her abortion, she and McKay broke up. For a couple that had some issues anyways, it's probably for the best.

Now that she's opened up to Ethan, Kat could feel pressure from him to stop being a cam girl. Though she's not doing anything explicitly sexual on her channel, Ethan might be jealous of the other men she's talking to and take issue with it. Though, it's very possible he has a kinky streak and is into it, too. I guess we'll find out.

I've gone back and forth on what I think Lexi's intentions are with Rue. Lexi hasn't gotten enough screentime for me to make a fully informed decision, but I do think it's possible she has romantic feelings for Rue. I got exactly zero answers on it in the finale, and I'm hoping Lexi's storyline grows in the second season so I can find out more.

In Nate and Cal's fight in the end, Nate referred to him by a slur in reference to finding out he's had sex with young boys. Nate discovered long ago that his dad has a lot of secrets, but it seems like this is the first time he's mentioned it to his dad. Does Cal realize that Nate knows? Is that why he ran away from Nate's meltdown to hide in his office? I can't wait to see how this plays out, because Cal has gone from extremely hateable as a character to someone I'm very curious to know more about. I obviously still think he's very problematic, but throughout the first season, his troubles made him a little more human. Or maybe it's just that compared to his psychopath son, his misgivings don't seem quite as bad.

Maddy grabbed a disc from Nate's room after a disastrous attempt at sex, and later in the episode, we just see her reaction to watching it. We have a few guesses as to what it could be, but who knows if any of them are correct.
