Visionary director Baz Luhrmann is known for bringing gorgeous movies like Moulin Rouge! and The Great Gatsby to life, and judging by the new, extended trailer for his new Netflix series, The Get Down, the show will be equally as beautiful. Luhrmann's project focuses on the world of hip-hop in 1970s New York, revolving around a group of teens navigating inner-city life in the South Bronx. The trailer is jam-packed with colorful disco lights, old-school style, and heartbreaking musical performances. The 13-episode series will premiere on August 12, and includes a talented, eclectic cast with the likes of Jaden Smith, Jimmy Smits, and Dope's Shameik Moore.
