Have you felt something missing from your Summer? Might we suggest it's the absence of a new season of Insecure? HBO Programming Chief Casey Bloys previously confirmed that a fourth season wouldn't arrive until 2020 because Issa Rae has been busy being a "big movie star." Thankfully, in a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the actress and series creator offered a few new details to tide fans over.

"We're still in the writers' room. We're shooting in September," Rae said. She also said this will be the first season to have 10 episodes, as opposed to the usual eight, thereby making the wait that much more worth it.

Another good reason for the delay? With a Spring 2020 premiere date, Insecure will have more time to be marketed for Emmys consideration, since the award show typically happens in September. Bloys told Vulture, "It wasn't exactly random that we ended up [scheduling the show] in the Spring, right before Emmys, so that the show should get the Emmy love that it has deserved."
