Lea Michele Comments on Scream Queens

Lea Michele Explains How Scream Queens Is Much More Difficult Than Glee

Scream Queens is one of Fall's most anticipated shows, and Ryan Murphy has assembled an all-star cast that has a lot of actors from other shows he's created. Namely, he cast Glee's Lea Michele as a very different character: a neck-brace-strapped, windbreaker-wearing sorority pledge named Hester. Michele was on hand at the Summer TCA to talk about her new show and how it flexes a totally different muscle than Glee — and why it's going to be great.

Michele said, "This is a completely different world, in horror, and in a lot of ways this is a lot more difficult, coming from Glee, performing and dancing and singing on that show, which was challenging in many ways. This is also very challenging, working with the balance of the horror and the comedy. [Producers] Brad [Falchuk] and Ryan [Murphy] and Ian [Brennan] — their writing is so specific and so smart, and it takes a really good actor to take on that writing. I think they've enlisted the greatest cast of actors who can really take on their words, and I think that will contribute to the success of the show."
