Rumple and Belle's Twisted and Sweet Romance Evolution

It all starts when Belle summons the Dark One to help her family.

But she quickly learns that all magic comes with a price and is forced to be Rumple's maid.

It goes without saying that their relationship starts off pretty rocky.

But they eventually warm up to each other.

And Rumple starts to care for Belle.

So, Belle tries to break his dark curse with true love's kiss.

It almost works, but her plan blows up in her face when Rumple lashes out.

He eventually apologizes, but it's too late, and Belle leaves the castle.

But she is actually kidnapped by Regina, aka the Evil Queen.

They finally have a heartfelt (and much anticipated) reunion in Storybrooke.

They work on rebuilding their relationship with a "first date" at Granny's.

Belle helps Rumple as he sets off to find his son.

But things go awry when Belle gets pushed over the town line and forgets who she is. RIP chipped cup.

Her new persona, Lacey, is strangely attracted to Rumple's bad side and he starts to go full Dark One again.

However, when Storybrooke is about to be destroyed, Rumple can't bare to be alone and restores Belle's memories with the Blue Fairy's potion.

Even with her memories back and Storybrooke intact, the star-crossed lovers say adieu once more as Rumple travels to Neverland to find Henry.

There is finally a happy moment between the two when they are reunited as a family with Rumple's son Neal.

Just when things are looking up, Belle is devastated after Rumple sacrifices himself to save everyone from Peter Pan.

He's eventually resurrected, but it's not what it seems and Neal eventually dies.

After much turmoil and the devastating loss of his son, Rumple finds a glimmer of hope when Belle accepts his marriage proposal.

The moment we've all been waiting for — Belle becomes Mrs. Gold!

They start their honeymoon with the cutest Disney tribute ever and all seems to be well with Rumbelle.

Until she finds out that he's been lying about his dagger, so she uses his own power against him and banishes him from Storybrooke.

Of course he finds his way back, but Belle isn't so pleased. Not only has she moved on with someone else, but Regina steals her heart and forces her to say some not-so-nice things to her true love.

Rumple makes a big romantic gesture by using her heart as a peace offering and bowing out gracefully — which, in turn, leaves Belle even more confused about how she feels.

When Rumple is drained of the darkness, Belle doesn't leave his side until he is well.

The two have a sweet embrace when Rumple finally becomes a hero and saves Belle's life.

But it still isn't good enough for Belle, who believes Rumple has hurt her too many times for her to start over with him.

Just kidding! After a selfless act, Belle forgives the Dark One and the two reconsummate their marriage.

Which eventually leads to an unforeseen pregnancy. Good news, right? Wrong. In a flashback, Rumple promises his second child to a healer, and the contract now lies in the hands of Hades himself.
