Warning: Yes, even this post spoils most of Avengers: Infinity War.

Listen, I get it. There was no way Marvel would be able to fit every single superhero into Avengers: Infinity War. And truth be told, they did a pretty remarkable job with the amount of characters they did manage to include. But you know how it goes. With so many characters and only so much airtime, a few names were bound to fall by the wayside.

There's no sign of Hawkeye in Infinity War. He's mentioned in the same breath as Ant-Man, who is also noticeably absent. While the former seems to be steering clear of the drama to protect himself and his family, Ant-Man has been placed under house arrest due to the events that go down in Captain America: Civil War (he also has a young daughter to think of). So that's all fine and dandy, but there's another character who's missing. And in this case, she doesn't even come up in conversation.

Yeah, we're talking about Valkyrie. The badass Asgardian warrior survives the events of Thor: Ragnarok with ease, because she's a f*ckin' badass. The last we see, she's on that giant space vessel with Thor, Loki, and the rest of the Asgardian population. You know, the same ship we see at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War, the one that's been torn to shreds by Thanos and his men.

Heimdall, the all-seeing sentry who guards the gates of Asgard, is the first death in Infinity War, with Loki following close behind. But there's no sign at all of Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson. We do not see her body in the ruins, and Thor does not mention her in any subsequent scenes, not even when he's clearly flirting with Gamora.

So what is the deal?! Well, we're not entirely sure (though Thompson has shared her personal thoughts on Valkyrie's absence). We've always liked to believe that she managed to hide or escape before Thanos decimated the Asgardian space vessel. But it wasn't until Marvel released the official character posters for Avengers: Endgame on March 26 that our hopes were proven valid.

In a move that's a little hurtful (we won't even look for Tom Holland's poster), the released posters are either in black and white to signify a dead character or in full color for characters left alive. Thompson posted Valkyrie's image in color on her Instagram page that morning, proving that Valkyrie is alive and well, and hopefully making an epic entrance to boot. Now we just have to wait for Endgame to hit theaters on April 26, so we can find out where she's been all along!
