Vin Diesel Talks About Fast and Furious Origin Story
Vin Diesel Reveals the Fast and Furious Origin Story, and It's Not What You Thought
You may think you know everything there is to know about the Fast and Furious movies, but Vin Diesel revealed a great little bit of trivia while visiting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week. We all know that the franchise is inspired by real street racing, but Diesel highlighted that it all originated from one particular article: a 1998 piece from VIBE Magazine. The article is about racing on the streets of New York, but The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen reset the movie to be in Los Angeles, a city that became integral to the story. Can you imagine how different things would be if they set the original movie in New York? We'll find out soon enough, because the upcoming eighth movie is set in New York City. Diesel also confirmed that F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) is on board to direct. Check it out, and watch him read a text from his daughter to Fallon.
