All the Oscar headlines may be about how La La Land was mistakenly awarded best picture when Moonlight was the actual winner in the category, but perhaps we need to take a beat and stop feeling sorry for La La Land, which still went home with six Oscars. The real bummer is for the movies that went home totally empty-handed this year. There were so many good movies in 2016, as evidenced by the nine best picture nominees, and there were so many incredible movies that got no recognition on Sunday night. Hidden Figures
The crowd-pleasing film, which is based on a true story, had a touching moment at the ceremony when the real Katherine Johnson showed up on stage. Sadly, despite being nominated for four Oscars, including best picture, it got no love.

Hell or High Water
Another best picture nominee that got no gold, Hell or High Water was up for four of the night's awards.

Jackie
Not that Natalie Portman was even able to attend, but she lost best actress to Emma Stone, while the film also didn't nab any of its other nominations, either.

Lion
Also nominated for best picture, the affecting, heartbreaking Lion lost out in all six categories it was nominated for, including best supporting actor and best supporting actress.
