Why Adults Should Watch Girl Meets World
I Watch Girl Meets World and I'm 27 Years Old
I'm a 27-year-old woman, and I'm obsessed with Girl Meets World, which has now been renewed for a second season. Sure, the show may be aimed at a "brand-new generation," and Ben Savage told me in an interview that it's for 13-year-olds, but honestly, Cory and Topanga are back and I just can't get enough. It's been more than a decade since I watched the Disney Channel, but thanks to the Boy Meets World spinoff, I now look forward to a weekly DVR date with Disney.
Here's the thing: As a diehard Boy Meets World fan, I'd felt both skeptical and crazy, crazy excited about news of the spinoff series. I wondered if — more than a decade later — it would be able to do the original show justice, if Cory and Topanga's relationship would still be so lovable, and if the couple's grown-up life with kids would be the way I'd always imagined it. Well, several episodes into the new series, I've decided that, yes, Girl Meets World does live up to the original show, Cory and Topanga are as charming as ever, and their kids, Riley and Auggie, have inherited all the best qualities of their parents. Wondering whether you'd like it, too? Here's why you should watch Girl Meets World — no matter your age.
Cory and Topanga Are So Wonderfully Cory and Topanga
