Why Did Camila Cabello Leave Fifth Harmony?

4 Important Questions We Have About This Fifth Harmony Split

Fifth Harmony made headlines late Sunday night when it was announced that one of their members, Camila Cabello, was leaving the group. In a statement released by the remaining members — Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke Hernandez, and Normani Kordei — we found out that it was Camila's representatives that told the girls she was bouncing (though Camila later denied that account in her own social media statement). We're still trying to make sense of the whole thing — which is giving us flashbacks to The Great Ginger Spice Exit of 1998 — but here are four VIQ (very important questions) that we have about this explosive split.

1. OK, who really told the other four girls about Camila quitting?

In their initial statement from the Fifth Harmony Twitter account, the girls alleged that they were "informed by her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony," but Camila later said, "The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future," and that she was "shocked" to read their message about her reps relaying the news, calling it "simply not true." We demand the truth!

2. Did Camila speak to Zayn Malik about this? Because it seems like something he'd give good advice on.

Between Zayn, Justin Timberlake, and Nick Jonas, Camila has a pretty good pool of people to talk to about embarking on a successful solo career.

3. Are they changing their name?

Yeah, it sounds like a hassle to do all that paperwork, but isn't it kind of weird to carry on as Fifth Harmony when you only have four harmonies?

4. Will we still get bangers? Please say we'll still get bangers.

While Camila was technically only one-fifth of the group, there's no denying her singing talent, especially on songs like "Scared of Happy" and "Work From Home," which stays on repeat whether we're at home or the office. Will the harmony (no pun intended) still hold up without her?
